The Fantasy Art of Baldur's Gate II - Mosaics
| Baldur's Gate is a series of fantasy computer role-playing games set in the "Forgotten Realms" Dungeons & Dragons game world. The complete story arc is covered by Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and the Throne of Bhaal expansion. The Tales of the Sword Coast expansion reveals additional areas but is not plot-critical. | This page presents the fantasy art of the mosaics in Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. When the game pauses to load a new location, the screen at which the player waits displays a context-dependant mosaic. For example, when the story moved on to the underwater city of the sahuagin, the mosaic showed a green-fish-thing (sahuagin warrior). The expansion and finale to the story, Throne of Bhaal did not continue with the mosaics, but that artistic direction might have been off for the theme of that final storyline and the war-torn feel of the locales. |
