The Fantasy Art of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Leather Armor

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a first-person perspective fantasy computer role-playing game set in a vast 3D world with an open-ended storyline that allows the player the freedom to pursue the main quest, side quests, or simply explore the world. The game is set in a different geographic location from the previous in the series (Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind) and in general the architecture and wildlife is more medieval and real-world. The fantasy game art is vastly improved, however, and at the time of its release wowed the world with its realism and attention to physics in its interactivity. This page shows Leather Armor in the game. This is part of an extensive fantasy art / game art gallery of armor in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. For an overview of the armor gallery, click here.

There are two slight variations on leather armor. First, instead of the usual gloves, a character may instead wear a pair of thick bracers. Because they occupy the same location on the model, and each location can only have one item, it is not possible to combine them. Leather Bracers are not commonly available, and only very few characters in the game wear them.

Second, in one of the non-essential quests, "An Unexpected Voyage", the villains who have organized themselves as the "Blackwater Brigands" wear leather armor with a ship stamped into the front and back of the cuirass / body piece.

The Leather Shield is in a very different colour and style from the rest of the leather armor ensemble, and stylistically looks like it should be a part of the Pit Armor set.
