Heroes of Might and Magic III is a turn-based strategy game developed by New World Computing for Microsoft Windows and released by the 3DO Company in 1999. It features a very wide selection of classic mythological creatures and not-so-classic fantasy creatures that are nevertheless easily recognized, especially by those familiar with the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. Our fantasy art galleries include game art from screenshots, movies of cutscenes, and other official media. |
The Dungeon faction is roughly made up of troglodyte and minotaur heroes and a wide variety of mostly classic fantasy monsters like medusae, minotaurs, harpies, and dragons. Their heroes are the Overlord (might) and Warlock (magic).
The term "Dungeon" may be related to the early fantasy role-playing game concept of "dungeons" (more or less any subterranean site) as a place for exploration by adventurers seeing treasure and fighting off monsters--An idea popularized by early Dungeons & Dragons. |
