Heroes of Might and Magic III is a turn-based strategy game developed by New World Computing for Microsoft Windows and released by the 3DO Company in 1999. It features a very wide selection of classic mythological creatures and not-so-classic fantasy creatures that are nevertheless easily recognized, especially by those familiar with the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. Our fantasy art galleries include game art from screenshots, movies of cutscenes, and other official media. |
The Inferno faction is composed of demons and devils but the fantasy artwork shows nothing about their true origins as "Kreegans", a technologically advanced race crashed her from another world. This background is very closely explored in the Might and Magic roleplaying games. When the franchise was overhauled and put in a new world setting in Heroes of Might and Magic V, much of the infernal was retained in the game art but their outer space origins were discarded.
Their heroes are the Demoniac (might) and Heretic (magic) and can be either demon or human allies.
