The Samantha Swift hidden object games puts you in the role of intrepid young archaeologist Samantha Swift. On her quests she travels around the globe and encounters hidden and fantastic locations. It plays like an Indiana Jones movie or Lara Croft adventure (but minus the lethal danger or endless jumping, respectively). The game action involves finding objects hidden in each scene, followed by solving a puzzle in order to advance further into the story.
Most of the fantasy art in the Samantha Swift games is in the exotic locations and the often magical puzzles. You can get an idea of the puzzles and how the locations play from looking at the screenshots, but, like an action movie, the Samantha Swift games really have to be experienced, and static scenes just can't convey the joy of discovery and success. (Be warned that our screenshots can contain spoilers.)
Each of the games have a standalone story, but there are characters and relationships that carry over and the character artwork, especially for Samantha Swift, changes slightly each time. By The Mystery from Atlantis, she has an edgier, almost cocky feel reflected not just in her slightly unkempt hair but her blasé attitude to danger in the opening sequence.
