| After the bold new direction in Tradewinds Caravans, Tradewinds Odyssey returns to the familiar format established in Tradewinds Legends and the earlier games. The artwork is simpler than in Caravans, more serious than in Legends, and the art direction is strong, giving the fantasy art a solid and easily recognizable "Greek mythology" look. Random character portrait generation is also back, but there is also a large selection of unique fantasy character portraits for plot characters and monsters. |
This Tradewinds Odyssey fantasy game art page has profiles of all the ships that can be purchased and the "blessings" from the gods that can be acquired from temples. There are only a few types of ships, but each is carefully illustrated with colourful and ornate fantasy art. Blessings are combat-related abilities that can repair the fleet or damage the enemy fleet, and replace the "special ammunition" that was a standard feature in the earlier Tradewinds games to help player fleets defeat more powerful enemy fleets. |
